Embracing Your Self-Worth: A Loving Guide to Self-Love and Personal Growth

I want to have a heartfelt conversation with you about something profoundly important: your self-worth. As your loving sister or aunty, I care deeply about your well-being and happiness. I see you. I know how hard you work, how much you give to others, and how often you put yourself last. But today, I want to remind you: you are worthy, simply because you exist.

I also want to share something that has changed my life and the lives of so many others—breathwork and somatic healing. These practices have helped me access a level of self-worth that isn’t tied to external validation but is deeply rooted within. And I want to help you experience that, too.

Let’s dive in. 💫

Understanding Self-Worth

Self-worth is the deep knowing that you are valuable just as you are. It’s not about achievements, appearance, or what others think of you—it’s about an unshakable foundation within.

Yet, so many of us struggle with this. Studies show that nearly 85% of people worldwide deal with low self-esteem at some point in their lives.(Psychology Today) If you’ve ever felt “not enough,” know that you are not alone.

The good news? You can rebuild your self-worth. And it starts with self-love.

What Is Self-Love (And What It’s Not)?

Self-love is the practice of treating yourself with the same kindness and compassion you so easily offer to others. It means:

♥️ Speaking to yourself with love—no more beating yourself up for mistakes.

♥️ Honoring your needs—resting when you’re tired, saying no when you need to.

♥️ Taking care of your body and mind—through nourishing food, movement, and healing practices like breathwork.

But let me be clear—self-love is not:

Selfishness—loving yourself allows you to show up even more fully for others.

Perfectionism—you don’t have to “earn” love through achievements.

Avoiding growth—real self-love means being honest with yourself and taking steps to heal.

When we practice self-love, we naturally start to rebuild our self-worth.

Steps to Cultivate Self-Worth

Finding your self-worth is a journey, but here are a few powerful steps to get started:

1. Practice Self-Compassion

Think about how you’d comfort a friend going through a hard time. Now, offer yourself that same grace. Research shows that self-compassion can reduce anxiety and depression while increasing resilience.

2. Set Healthy Boundaries

Every time you say “no” to something misaligned, you’re saying “yes” to your well-being. Learning to set boundaries is an act of self-respect.

3. Engage in Activities That Bring You Joy

When was the last time you did something just for the joy of it? Singing, dancing, painting, walking in nature—joy reconnects you to your worth.

4. Surround Yourself with People Who Lift You Up

Who you spend time with affects your self-worth. Seek relationships that are nurturing, uplifting, and affirming.

5. Keep Small Promises to Yourself

This is a big one. When you follow through on commitments to yourself, you build trust in YOU. Start small—drink more water, take 5 deep breaths a day, journal for 5 minutes. Over time, you’ll realize you are someone you can count on.

How Breathwork & Somatic Release Help You Reclaim Your Self-Worth

I’ve been on this journey myself, and breathwork has been a game-changer.

When we’ve spent years doubting ourselves, our bodies hold onto that pain. The tightness in your chest, the lump in your throat, the pit in your stomach—these are signs that old wounds are still living inside you.

Breathwork and somatic release help you process and release these stored emotions. I have guided countless women through this practice, and I’ve seen incredible transformations:

🌹 Women who finally let go of childhood wounds.

🌹 Women who reconnect with their inner strength and confidence.

🌹 Women who start trusting themselves again.

You don’t have to carry the weight of unworthiness anymore. You can breathe it out. You can release it.
